The Oil and Gas training of NATIN (Natuur Technisch Institute) has its first group of graduates. Ten students received their certificates on Friday, 25 October 2024.
New Restrooms for O.S. MULO Latour 2
Staatsolie Foundation does it again! On October 11, the foundation handed over the newly renovated restrooms and changing rooms at O.S. MULO Latour 2 in a festive atmosphere. For the more than 400 students at the school, this is truly something to celebrate, as they can now use the facilities with peace of mind.
Staatsolie and partners invest approximately a quarter of a million US dollars in renovation NATIN building
A completely renovated building at the school complex of NATIN (Natuur Technisch Instituut) was officially put into use on Thursday 3 October 2024. The renovation is possible thanks to a donation from Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. and partners TotalEnergies, Capricorn, Chevron, QatarEnergy and Decker Petroleum.
TotalEnergies and APA Corporation Announce Final Investment Decision for Block 58
TotalEnergies and APA Corporation have announced the Final Investment Decision (FID) for the development of a production field in Block 58 offshore Suriname. The construction and installation phase will take approximately four years, meaning that first oil will be produced in 2028 at the earliest.
Staatsolie and Petrobras sign Memorandum of Understanding
Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. (Staatsolie) and the Brazilian state oil and gas company Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) on 26 September 2024 signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
Staatsolie signs offshore production sharing contracts with PetroChina
Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. (Staatsolie) and PetroChina Investment Suriname B.V. (PetroChina), a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation, signed production sharing contracts for offshore blocks 14 and 15 on Friday 13 September 2024.
Staatsolie plans to issue bonds in 2025
Staatsolie will participate in the development of the first offshore oil production field in Block 58. To finance our participation, we are considering various options, including a bond issuance in 2025.

Hess looking for partner for Block 59
The American international oil and gas company Hess Corporation (Hess) is looking for partner(s) for Block 59 in offshore Suriname. Hess is now the only party in the block after ExxonMobil (USA) and Equinor (Norway) transferred their respective interests to it in July 2024.
