Huize Prinses Margriet provides housing and care for elderly residents who depend on a safe and stable living environment. Before the renovation, the high-rise flats were affected by persistent roof leakages. During rainy periods, water entered the buildings and disrupted the daily comfort of residents, creating an urgent need for structural repairs.
To help address this situation, Staatsolie contributed USD 80,000 toward the renewal of the roofs of the high-rise flats. The support made it possible to replace the leaking roof structures and significantly improve the living conditions for the senior citizens at Huize Prinses Margriet.
The project has a direct impact on the safety, comfort and dignity of the residents. A dry and secure home environment is especially important for elderly people, as it supports their health, peace of mind and overall wellbeing. By resolving the roof leakages, the renovation helped create a more comfortable place for residents to live and receive care.
This contribution reflects Staatsolie’s commitment to supporting socially vulnerable groups in Suriname. Through this project, Staatsolie helped improve essential living conditions for senior citizens and supported Huize Prinses Margriet in its role as a care environment for elderly members of the community.
